> What is Hospice?
Hospice is a program of health care services designated to meet the special needs of patients and their loved ones when the patient is diagnosed with a disease for which they do not elect aggressive treatment.
It is generally home-based, but they sometimes provide services away from home – in freestanding facilities, nursing homes, or hospitals.
Our goal is to enable patients to be comfortable and free of pain so that they live each day as fully as possible. Aggressive methods of pain control may be used.
Our philosophy is to provide support for the patient’s emotional, social, and spiritual needs as well as medical symptoms as part of treating the whole person.
- Meeting the needs of the patient and family is a top priority at Conforto Hospice, Inc.
- Hospice provides non-judgmental respect for patient choices. Hospice care is for patients and families as a unit.
- Hospice provides holistic care—spiritual, emotional, and physical.
- The Medicare hospice benefit, Medicaid, and Private Insurance cover hospice services associated with the terminal illness.
Conforto Hospice, Inc. believes hope is an essential ingredient to the patient’s sense of well-being. It provides support and direction as the illness progresses. The focus of hospice shifts to maintaining the patient’s quality of “LIFE.”
