I feel so fortunate to have found Conforto Hospice for my father who had late stage dementia. From the first day I toured, I knew my father would be in good hands. The owner has a kind and gentle soul and updated me frequently. She was also very responsive to my several texts and calls. It was like my father was being cared for by family. As a physician, I felt inspired by both the medical knowledge of the entire team and how care was delivered with patience and empathy. The home was clean and bright and never had foul odors. The food was healthy and of appropriate portions. When my father passed, the team worked seamlessly together with my family. I would recommend Conforto Hospice wholeheartedly. If the time comes for my mother to need it, I would not hesitate to reach out to Conforto again.
Our 92 year old mother had heart disease and the last year was in and out of hospitals and rehab centers. We were finally able to move her into a private small group home for the elderly in Torrance. The home was beautiful. Along with the in-home care providers, Conforto provided skilled hospice nurse care that visited her 2-3 times a week. The nurses were great. They bathed her, brought her the necessary medication and looked after her general health. When mother started deteriorating and quite quickly, Conforto was there to see to her needs. Nurses were dispatched as needed, the Doctor was consulted at every turn. We dealt personally with the Nursing Supervisor Ria, who always made herself available to us. The night that mother passed, a hospice nurse was sent to spend the night with her. As I live out of town, I was confident that she wasn't alone. The nurse kept us updated almost hourly on mother's vitals. Regrettably I did not make it home in time (I was in transit) when she passed overnight. But her "angel" the hospice nurse was with her. And for that I am comforted. I highly recommend Conforto Hospice Care. We were very fortunate to have them care for our mother. God bless you!
